    Gearworks 40 Spline XHD Spool is made from 4140 Chromoly making it the strongest 40 Spline 2.25″ journal spool on the market, it has both 1/2″ and 7/16″ bolt holes and the ring gear flange is extra thick to help eliminate ring gear deflection and designed for load bolt clearance.  With 5.5″ of spline most of the way through, having your axle lengths perfect is not as much of a problem. This spool is 1.4KG  heavier than the popular HD spool and has drastically higher flange rigidity due to increased thickness of the flange and web.  We use these primarily in applications that are run reversed like a flipped rear third member or our high pinion run in the rear.
